Poetry must be the only craft where a lack of knowledge and experience is worn as a badge of honor; conversely, appearing to know the craft very well and to be learned is thought to be arrogant and 'elitist'. No other artform seems to embrace such an anti-intellectual stance. -LP

ah, but it does happen elsewhere, unfortunately..musicians and.painters have long been subject to being criticized by those who reject the new and declare the various histories of their arts to be end points as opposed to being places from which to leap and explore, to take chances and grow .....
we learn, we grow.....and there is much to learn, always, though some seem to resist, defensively, simply for the sake of resistance....
how can the intellect be treated as separate and apart from any acts of creating?....all of our faculties/facets are involved at all times...impossible to be fully functioning otherwise, as I see it... and that does continue to happen, both because of and despite ourselves....
.good to see you here, Lamont...here's to the antis saying uncle...'])
