    Beatons Tearooms and Bookshop 2nd Annual Poetry Competition Adjudicators: Liz Darcy Jones; Jon Amos; Nick Kelly. Winners announced 5th Dec - public recital of winning poems on Sat 13 Dec 2014. New category for 2014! Young Aspiring Wordsmith for 13 - 17 year olds. The competition particularly aims to encourage those who may not have considered writing poetry before. Darcy Jones is known to appreciate work that is accessible and displays an ear for rhythm. Winning poems will be published on Beatons website - copyright remains with winners.

    War Poetry for Today

    Theatre Cloud, in conjunction with the Touring Consortium Theatre Company and their new UK touring production of Pat Barker's Regeneration, is making a call out for you to write POETRY ABOUT WAR and BECOME A WAR POET OF TODAY. We want your response to images of war in poetry. We are looking for the war poets of TODAY.1st prize: £500,2 runners up will each win £250. All three poems will also receive a public reading of their poem during the last week of Regeneration, entry is free.

    Munsterlit Poetry Competition

    Closing date: 30th November,2014.
    Prizes: 1st prize of 1,000 Euro (on 7 October 2014 approx. USD 1263 or GBP 784) , publication in Southword Literary Journal, a trip to Cork, Ireland to read at the Cork Spring Poetry Festival, and a week-long writing retreat at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. Second prize: 500 Euro, third prize: 250 Euro. Ten runners-up: poems published and receive Southword'’s standard fee of E30.
    Entry fee: E5 per poem, or E20 for 5 poems. (UK writers: £5 per poem, or £20 for 5 poems.) Writers from countries outside Ireland & UK can pay via Paypal, which will convert their currency to Euro.
    Winning and commended authors will be published in Southword journal. This year's judge is poet Matthew Sweeney.

    Sentinel Literary Quarterly Poetry Competition
