Emerging Voices Fellowships

Fellowships of $1,000 each are given annually to emerging poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers who lack access to financial and creative support. Each fellow participates in an eight-month mentorship in Los Angeles with a professional writer, as well as classes at the UCLA Extension Writers' Program, public readings, and other programming. Housing is not provided. Writers who do not have significant publication credits, are not enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate writing program, and do not hold a graduate writing degree are eligible. Submit up to 10 pages of poetry or 20 pages of prose, a curriculum vitae, a federal tax return summary, and at least two letters of recommendation with a $10 entry fee by August 11. The Manchester Poetry Prize 2014
The 2014 Manchester Poetry Prize will award a cash prize of £10,000 to the writer of the poems submitted. All entrants are asked to submit a portfolio of three to five poems (total maximum line length: 120) . The poems can be on any subject, and in any style, but must be new work, not previously published or currently under consideration elsewhere.

Saveas Writers' International Writing Competition 2014 - Reflections on the Great War
Entries are invited of short works of poetry or prose written in response to any work of art associated with World War One. 'Work of art' in this context can be a painting, a song, a poem, even a film or a soundtrack to a film. The interpretation of the term is entirely up to the entrant.

2014 Mind Magazine INSIGHT Poetry Prize Competition.

Please submit manuscripts between 20 – 50 pages in length. Ideally, poems should all be connected in some tangible way.
Preference is for well edited poetry with strong imagery and a distinct voice.
There are no subject guidelines. Winner will receive a $100 minimum cash prize after signing a publishing contract and 20 copies of their book upon publication. The prize amount will vary based on number of entries received, but it will not be less than $100.
There is a $12 entry fee.
All entrants will receive a copy of the winning submission.
Winner will be announced in September.
