    Envoi International Open Poetry Competitions

    Deadline for submissions – 20th February,20th June and 20th October each year.
    Prizes: 1st prize £150,2nd prize £100,3rd prize £50.
    Each winner and three runners up win a complimentary copy with their poem.
    The three runners up are also awarded an annual subscription worth £15.
    Entry fee: £3 per poem or five poems for £12.
    Poems can be in any style, on any theme up to 40 lines.

    Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest

    Closing dates: (Semi-annual) July 31st and December 31st, each year.
    Prizes: Writing Contest First Prize is $500. Second Prize: $250. Third Prize: $100.
    Poetry Contest First Prize is $250. Second Prize: $125. Third Prize: $50.
    Entry fees: $5(USD) per poem, $10(USD) per short story.

    Guidelines: The Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest is open to anyone who loves expressing innermost thoughts and feelings into the beautiful art of poetry or writing a short story that is worth telling everyone! And to all who have the ability to dream. Write a poem, thirty lines or fewer on any subject, style, or form, typed or neatly hand printed. And/or write a short story, five pages maximum length, on any subject or theme, creative writing fiction or non-fiction (including essay compositions, diary, journal entries and screenwriting) . Also, must be typed or neatly hand printed.
    Multiple poetry and short story entries are accepted.

    Sentinel Short Story and Poetry Quarterly Competition

    Closing dates: 31st Dec,31st March,30th June.
    Prizes: £150, £75, £50, three £10 Highly Commendeds in both categories.
    Entry fee: short stories, £5, £8 for two, £10 for three, £12 for four; poems, £4; £7 for two, £9 for three, £11 for four, £12 for five.

    The Witching Hour 2015 Horror Competition
    This is a small, international competition for dark romantic and horror poets.
    The competition to find the best supernatural and/or horror poem of 2015.

    Poems can be up to 70 lines
    Poems can be of any form or style

    Poetry Prize: The poem judged as the most exciting and unusual will:

    An academic year in residence, which includes a stipend of $30,000, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison is given annually to up to five writers working on a first or second book of poetry or fiction. Fellows teach one workshop in creative writing each semester and give one public reading. Writers with an MFA or PhD in creative writing who have not published more than one book are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit 10 pages of poetry or one story or novel excerpt of up to 30 pages, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for two references with a $50 entry fee between January 1 and February 28.     Two prizes of $5,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a poetry collection and a short story collection. In addition, two prizes of $2,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a novel and a book of creative nonfiction. For the Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages; Crystal Williams will judge, and University of Pittsburgh Press will publish the winning collection. For the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages; Nahid Rachlin will judge, and University of Massachusetts Press will be the publisher. For the AWP Prize for the Novel, submit a manuscript of at least 60,000 words; Paul Harding will judge, and New Issues Poetry & Prose will be the publisher.     Up to five awards of $6,000 each and up to five Promise Awards of $2,000 each are given twice yearly to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers with children.
