    The Charles Causley Poetry Competition 2014

    The Charles Causley Trust exists to promote the work of the late poet Charles Causley
    1. The Charles Causley Poetry Prize is open to anyone, including non-UK applicants, aged 18 and over by the closing date of the competition.
    2. Entries must be in English.
    3. The closing date of the competition is 12 noon (UK time) ,6th November 2014.
    4. First prize is £2000.
    Runners up awards: 2nd: £250 3rd: £100
    There will also be 5 Highly Commended Awards of £30 each.
    5. There is no limit on the number of entries a single entrant can make, but additional entries incur further entry fees.
    6. Entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form and payment to be accepted. All entries will be considered anonymously by the judges. One entry form may cover multiple entries.

    Two awards of $10,000 each will be given annually for a poetry collection and a short story collection or novel translated into English for the first time and published in the previous year.     ARTlines2 Ekphrastic Poetry Contest

    A prize of $1,000 will be given triennially for an ekphrastic poem inspired by a piece of art selected by the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. The winner and runners-up will be invited to a reading and award reception at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston in April 2015; their poems and the finalists' poems will also be published in the ARTlines2 anthology. Robert Pinsky, David M. Parsons, Patricia Smith, Mary Szybist, and Roberto Tejada will judge. Using the online submission system, submit a poem of up to 40 lines inspired by one of five selected pieces of art (which can be found on the contest website) with a $16 entry fee by November 12 ($10 for each additional poem) or a $20 entry fee by November 30 ($16 for each additional poem) .
