    My Lady My Love IV
    Your songs are the pills
    That lore me with peace
To your world of love and ease
    Even if i sleep
    On a bed of reed
    With your pills
    I dream as though
    Revelling in the wind

If i am to be called a prof.
Let ye be called prof too
If Titan i am to be called
Titan let ye be called too
    For you are the half
    That made me whole

    You are the minstrel
    Eulogizing in my heart
    And i be the dancer
    Addicted to your rhymes

My sun doesn't shine like yours
    rise like yours
    give light like yours

My rain doesn't pour like yours
    shower like yours
    flood like yours

My butterfly doesn't evolve like yours
    change colors like yours
leave behind traces of beauty like yours

    My heart doesn't
    beat like yours
    feel like yours
    heal like yours
    break like yours
    burn like yours

My soul doesn't feel like yours
    give like yours

But somehow I want all of you to soak up like a sponge

But my eyes don't see like yours
    or cry like yours

So it sit back and wait until i can be yours
    Until we have one goal
    one love
    one space
    one vision
    one blessing
    one fate
    one house
    one last name

    two cars
    two rings
    two minds
    two souls

    i'll wait until
    My sun shines like yours
until my butterfly flies like yours
until my heart loves like yours
    together; on one accord

My first book, Love Lyrics: The Musical Marital Manual, is being published now and will be available on Amazon. It is the ONLY self-help marriage book written primarily in a song lyric, rhyming verse (light verse) format. I did this because I think poetry is a marvelous tool for education. Experiences that are musical, emotional, entertaining, and aesthetic are more easily accepted, absorbed, and remembered. Each has a brief prose commentary accompanying it; but, I wanted the lyrics/poems to stand on their own as a different type of informative communication. I understand that poetry has historically served a role in educating people as well as being a form of artistic expression. I am a recently retired psychologist and marriage & family therapist and I have always been a professional musician, too. So, I combined these bodies of knowledge and interest in this book. I am also the full-tlme caregiver for my disabled wife and am almost finished with a second book in the same format that tells other caregivers their feelings are normal, manageable, and they are not alone.

You've got the cruelest heart, I have ever known
When you say you love me, you know,
it'll touch me deep and makes me weak
Words that'll keep me under the influence of your control
Where are we going to, do you know?
because, I can't continue to give away, my heart and soul

    You've made beautiful promises
    Guess you figured, I'd forget
A life of bliss, beyond my years
instead, you bring me only tears
you ain't ever going to care

With no regrets, I'm leaving you
The love that lived inside my heart, it's gone
Did you think i'd keep holding on?
Baby, i'm sorry, I love you, I apologize
Baby, this love have met it's demise
when are you going awake to see
    I'd leave behind painful memories
I was your fool, but, I wasn't going be a fool forever
Going find me a new love, one who treats me right
and love me like you never could
for the rest of my life

    You've Changed

The sparkle in your eyes is no longer there
the smile upon your face leave me in despair
when you kiss me, I no longer feel a fire
When you touch me, I don't feel desired
You fix your lips to say 'I love you'
Those heartfelt words you don't live up to
you've changed, each memory that we'd share
how strange, that there's not an ounce of you that cares
I fell in love with someone
but you're not that someone I thought I knew
Somethings got a hold of you
you've changed, Who would of thought we'd fall apart
    guess nothing good lasts forever
    You've broken my heart
We've been through the stormy weather
didn't outlive love to stay together
    because you've changed
