In your words or deeds never drag others down

Poor John Shaw Neilson he died almost blind
But he was one who worked hardand was honourable and kind
At hard laborious jobs he earned his every pay
And nothing ever easy ever did come his way

At sports he will never know of any fame
But he is one who does live up to his nickname
As Tough As Nails Bill for he is strong and tough
And in the football oval he plays very rough
...

Those who are lacking in kindness and empathy
Are not prone for others for to feel sympathy
To be generous and compassionate is not their way
Though their sort are not rare which does seem true to say
...

As a young man on nice evenings in Spring and Summer when I lived in Millstreet
I used to walk through the fields to where the rivers do meet
But going back the Seasons this does seem long ago
And since then time that ages has become my foe
...

Since on what greatness is you and I do not agree
The one who is great to you is not great to me
Sporting and multi millionaire and billionaire celebrities are those you admire
And of singing their praises you never does tire
...

On average by a few years the woman outlives the man
But the longest lived human life in real time not a long span
As the title of an old song 'The longer you live the sooner you will die'
Words based on fact and fact never does lie

In our existence we go through many a phase
We all have our good and our not so good days
The roadways of life can be hilly and rough
And life has it's good times and times that are tough
...

Girls become young women and lovely to behold
But to time lose their beauty as they do grow old
Then they use hair dyes and makeup to fight time's decay
But the look of freshness of youth as they age with them does not stay
...

It does seem way beyond me for to explain
That someone who has inflicted on others so much mental pain
And has known to be cruel to every boat refugee
Has reached the very top of Australia's political tree
...
