Those endless nights
When I cried,
You took me close to your bosom
And rocked me in your arms,
...
The snow-clad peaks and I,
No likeness can I find:
The peaks, so lovely and pure,
To my ills, there is no cure.
...
The rain came pouring in,
As I was sitting by the window-sill,
The drops, perched on the grill,
Turned my frown into a grin.
...
Realisation
Those endless nights
When I cried,
You took me close to your bosom
And rocked me in your arms,
You lullabied me to sleep.
It did not irk you,
It did not disturb you.
Today when I lie on bed
With you beside me, snoring
Why does it irl me?
Why does it disturb me?
Is this the way I repay
Those sleepless nights,
Those arms so warm?
The realisation dawns upon me
And it gladdens my heart,
To see you asleep
Under a quilt of serenity,
And your snores, they
No longer irk me,
No longer disturb me.
