Dark Angel

A fleeting glance.
That is all.
Yet in that second its beauty was astounding.
Shadows pooled around him, darkness was his guide.

A heavy sadness clung to the air.
Loss...
forever capturing and torturing the heart.
He turned to me and I saw the despair.
Cold tugged at my being.

I tried to look away but find I was stuck.
Stuck staring into those dark, haunted eyes.
And I knew.
And my heart my heart broke.

Memories kept him trapped.
Memories stabbed holes into the fabric of sanity.
Memories trailed him and wouldn't let go.
Memories are what made him into this creature.
Into my dark angel.
