Monsters Within

The emptiness is overflowing,
Devouring me bit by bit.

The darkness trickles down,
Swallowing up everything in its path;
My heart, my soul, my mind.

The light that once illuminated my world has burnt out,
Leaving behind an endless sea of black.

The sadness creeps up,
Wrapping itself around my body until I'm paralyzed;
Emotionally, physically.
Doomed to my bed for all eternity.

The depression seeps in,
Taking over my every thought,
My every move.
And it grows.
It's constantly growing every second of every minute of every day.

My constant state of mind is a sinking ship way past saving.
