I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother of the White House.
They sent me to eat in the kitchen
...
I Too Sing America
I, too, sing America.
I am the darker brother of the White House.
They sent me to eat in the kitchen
When company came,
But I laughed,
And ate well,
And grew strong--
Wise too!
Today
I'm at the table;
My table
When company comes.
Nobody dares
Say to me,
'Eat in the kitchen, '
Now.
Besides,
They see how beautiful I am
And admit-
That I, too, am America.
