With words, a look, a certain smile...these gifts are offered by that sole;

Yearly a sweet monarch butterfly would come visit me;
While sitting out underneath a maple tree,

Even though I knew it's great strength was also it's own feature,

Spiritual warriors' battles are foes of a silent kind;
As fighting cancer requires all the strength from your own mind,
It's like being tested minute by minute to see who'll win this game;
When you're up against such pain, with the very fabric of each time frame,

Around ghostly campfires gypsy women take to dance,
Wearing sheer veils & long skirts swaying as if in a trance,
Their beauty is on display; while they clang their bells,
Singing & playing tunes with stories to tell,

There's a peaceful place called Tranquility,
Of outstanding beauty that's found at sundown;
Where clouds of purple & red streak their way fully across the sky;
And the sun lies low amidst the dark, red horizon;

Our poetry builds bridges across distance & time,
Words forming & flowing in rhythm & rhyme,
Sharing thoughts of love, friendship & pain,
A pool of dreams, humor, nature & sad refrains,

Like our lives there are endless days of rain;
When all that seems to remain is the constant pain,
With those strikes of lightening we're left feeling weaker;
And when the thunder pounds we feel even bleaker,

The silence is broken when the tamberine bells ring,
It's sound tingles making my soul sing;
And then I'm lifted higher when the flute tunes in,
With it's hauntingly beautiful echo calming me within;

'Some days are diamonds & some days are stone, '
There are wonderful days of ease with everything going right;
Where you percieve to shine & sparkle brightly as diamonds do,
But then there are those awful days, when your problems are many dragging you down,
