I'm married - a grandmother - I love irony and satire in poetry. I've been writing for about ten years - I've performed my poetry in pubs, at concerts, on buses, to friends - foes - I love challenges in writing - many lemons have come by me - I've tried to turn them into creative lem ade - I'm working on expanding language as much as I can -an interest in American poetry is burgeoning.I love Richard Wilbur - his 'Love calls us to the things of this world' still inspires and thrills me. I would like to co-respond with fellow poets who would like to offer helpful criticism of my poetry. I'm not thin skinned(I hope))

Lately The Moon

Lately the moon travels with Venus
The night sky opens with a whoosh
like a clerical umbrella
of strategically placed stars.
Fulgent light enters - a camera snaps
Time breaks free from clocks.
Ticked, marked, it swirls and convolutes
Easily I mistake it for heaven
without fear of gods in raging chariots.

I swallow the moon
Venus slips down my my throat
