People aren't working today

That when you find out
That you have given up
At understanding your father

We don't stop and say
That we are so thankful
To our Lord above
About how things worked out

We don't understand
Why things happen the way they do
And why the people you seem clossest to
Have the worst luck in life
...

We do what we can
In the time
That we have been given
By the Lord above

We have our own ways
Of touching peoples lives
And helping them through
The world today
