He was born in the north,20 miles from the line
Grew up in a middle class town
Where life was easy, and low was crime
And you got up when you fell to the ground

Burning yellow sun in the sky, blazing
Intensity ultimately makes me fly, from the heat
Because paradise isn't always as it seems
In the end, I think, it's just too hot for me

Ballad Of Oakland Royal

He was born in the north,20 miles from the line
Grew up in a middle class town
Where life was easy, and low was crime
And you got up when you fell to the ground

But in everyone's life, a little rain must fall
And it sure poured on his
So when you can find few oppurtunities at all
You leave, and that's the way it is

So it didn't work out, and they headed south
A completely different culture and mindset
Where they say freedom reigns no doubt
But good luck to those who can find it

Try your best, fight when it's cut and dry
Because the loser is next in line to win
But first you need wings to fly
So your luck just might be dwindilin'

Few years pass by, and they leave again
Because the oppurtunities they had were gone
It's tough to abandon all of your friends
But without a choice he said so long

So live and let live, and let life go on
And that's exactly what he did
You take your chances and pray nothing goes wrong
Hold on to the light and don't let it slip

So say with me, bring on the next level
Because the best part is yet to come
Your future success may be unmeasurable
And you might just be more lucky than some
