Still not sure where I’m going.
Into the future, from the past,
The race is still ongoing.

Why do the stars only shine at night?
Why do we say sorry only when we’re wrong?
Why do two wrongs never make a right?
Why are nights so short and days so long?

Gradually fades the evening sun,
Behind the hills and out of sight.
The night is young, it’s just begun
And stars welcome the night.

You can’t swear you’ll never leave
And thus my heart begins to grieve
With every word you say.
You can’t give you, I won’t give me,

When I sleep, it’s you in my dream,
It’s you dancing through my head.
When I wake, it’s your name I scream,
It’s you missing from my bed.

I park my truck in the usual place
With a smile pasted upon my face,
Anticipating the moonlight’s grace,
It’s beautiful, radiant gleam.
