The vultures, circling and soaring,
Marveled at how Gog was warring
Brutal on the sons of man
Whose mortal blood kept pouring, pouring.

It's late, and dark. The TV's flick'ring white
Ghostly lights, and my darling's deep asleep.

What dream, what world is she caught in so deep
...

We kissed- her lips departed tight,
Her hand around my waist was weak …
I leaned back in (‘cause love would, right?)
And kissed her hazel cheek.
...

When sadness has my soul distraught
And twists my weary, weary bones
And owns my bright blue days with gray
And manifests with moans
...

They held with horrid hell their lines
Til shells dispelled their noxious fumes
Then through the labyrinth there fell
A myriad to Earth's gray womb
...

I'm falling fast and quick to sleep
And ah, a secret do I keep
And if I told the news today
The world around me wide would weep
...

What goddess with her might contend
What beauty could a woman hold
What temp'rate mortal might defend
Against her beauty bold
...

They revel in their auburn Spring
And sing the songs of Summer's light
With wide-eyed will they oust the king
That brought them pain and Winter's plight
...

I woke to sounds of singing birds
To joyful morning sun and sky
Yes, all creation woke in bliss
I woke in sorrow- ah, but why
...

The rain was awful yesterday
Or so I heard some lady say
It took me back in deep surprise
Since we depend on all that gray
