Joscelyn Webb Poems

The sound of rain in the still of the night
Somebody softly stroking my head
The lullaby-breathing before sleep arrives
Your skin against mine, alone in my bed
...

There is beauty in words
Beauty in the way one soul
Expresses it's desires
In words, to others

Things I Love

The sound of rain in the still of the night
Somebody softly stroking my head
The lullaby-breathing before sleep arrives
Your skin against mine, alone in my bed

The way that you watch as I dress each morning
And heal me to calm when I get home at night
The way you instinctively know what I'm thinking
When to placate me or push me to fight

The way that you held me as we watched the sunrise
And kissed my fingers before they fell on your skin
How, without fear, you told me you'd come back to find me
How you opened your soul and invited me in

The honesty you gave in those first perfect moments
And the truths you told later to appease the lies
The journey you made just to be near me
The journey within that made you realise

The things that you love that you chose to share with me
The look in your eyes when I showed you something new
Your embrace of my life and everything in it
Your smile, your touch, your tenderness,
You.
