Kathy A. Piatt Poems

These two young people
I watched toddle about
I've watched them grow
And I've watched them fill out.
...

My love for you is sacred,
It cannot be explained,
You own a part of me
That no one else can claim.
...

This is not a good time to stop by . . .
We need some time alone, together, He and I.
He's really tired, and I'm really irritable
Come back later; we'll be more sociable.

My Babies

These two young people
I watched toddle about
I've watched them grow
And I've watched them fill out.
I kissed their "boo-boos"
I wiped away their tears.
I've watched them mature
Over the last few years.
They were my babies,
My joy and my pride.
I've watched both of them
Taking life with a stride.
I've watched them as they
Have learned right from wrong
And how they have learned
How to be brave and strong.
And although they are
Both grown-up now;
They'll always be
My little babies somehow.
