Katie Evans Poems

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
...

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, 'come to me.'
...

I cannot let you grieve for me,
For those who love must let us go.
In comfort, please believe I’m free,
From all the pain life can bestow,
...

The pain, it hurts it rips and tears
Unstoppable, but I don’t care
All the lies about me, all the tears that have come
They're all from you and that thing you’ve become
...

Though we never know
Where life will take us,
I know it's just a ride
On the wheel.
...

Death is only an old door
Set in a garden wall;
On gentle hinges it gives, at dusk
When the thrushes call.
...

7.

Music brings joy,
to all of our hearts,
It's one of those,
emotional arts.
...

8.

Don't spend too much
time in mourning.
Tears are for the sad. I left
to be with Jesus, and
...

My friends to you I bid goodbye
To the friendship that brought me sky
The year has been swell
As if coming from a wishing well
...

The more I look back on all the happy times
the easier it is for me to realize
that friends are much more then hellos and goodbye
it all comes down to what you have inside.
...

From Girl Scouts to girl problems,
It's been a bumpy ride
There have been times of great laughter
and times of hurt pride.
...

Leaving you will be so hard
I know that we will be scarred.
Through the years we have grown up
Now we are about to split up.
...

MY TOP FRIEND, MY ONLY SISTER
WE WERE ALWAYS TOGETHER BUT NOW I MISS HER
HAVING SUCH A CLOSE FRIENDHSIP, IT'S HARD TO LET HER GO.
SHE'S LEAVING US ALL AND DOESN'T EVEN KNOW.
...

As time has changed and seasons have past
We've developed a bond that will forever last.

As we say good-bye in this our final year
...

As I sat here through my tears
I look back on all the years

Games we lost and won
...

One night I dreamed I was walking
Along the beach with the Lord,
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
...

I need to know if you’re my true friend,
will you be by my side until the end?
Can I tell you my secrets deep,
and trust them in your heart you’ll keep?
...

The best of friends,
Can change a frown,
Into a smile,
when you feel down.
...

You think you know me?
You don't know the half of it.
You think you scare me?
I'm just pushing back the wrath again.
...

There's always someone that makes you cry
You gain pain and hurt inside as day's go by
A mean heart, free human being that brings you many fears in life,
Wondering if the big solution to all your problems is a fire, gun, or even a knife.

The Best Poem Of Katie Evans

God's Garden

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace bethine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

TRUE WELSH. Can you tell me where you got permission for this poem to be published here on PoemHunter.com? As I am the Author of the poem and it is already under Copyright (as 2008 David Boyce) you should not be publishing it on any site under your own name. I have allowed a pupil to use it for her work in a school for her GCSEs in 2014, is this you? If so can you please show me as the official author. Regards, David Boyce, South Wales

I recently lost a dear friend and was wondering whether or not we would be able to use God's Garden in her memory. Is it copyrighted? If so, by David Boyce or Katie Evans? Please let me know as soon as possible. With sincere thanks. Peggy Foley foleyrlty@aol.com

The poem God's Garden is also attributed on other sites (eg Scrapbook.com) to a D W McConway... it can be difficult to find the original author of poetry which is shared so widely, especially by those taking funerals. I look for poetry as a celebrant and always seek permission or at least cite authors if I recite the poems, but it is clearly difficult to find original attribution and ownership, even when looking for it! Thank you, David Boyce, for a beautiful and much loved poem.

Anyone can hand write it out on a piece of paper, even now and say they wrote the original, do you have a link to a dated post on myspace? , if not, i'd say David would legally have the copyright.

Actually David Boyce, I wrote this original poem in 2005. I published it on Myspace. I actually have the original handwritten paper.

You did not write this poem in 2005. My family and I found this I forget where but put it on a plaque for my mom who died in 1991. So y'all are lying lying

Katie Evans, evidently as noted below by David Boyce, steals works by other people. She ads a line or two and thinks it is her's...it is not. Stop stealing other peoples' work, Katie. We're all on to you now.
