The Brave Girl In The City

I was once a city full of light
A mesmerizing beauty and land of great fights
I called myself abode of oaths sweared to protect
my child with valour and sacrifice

One day she came to me with dreams without night
Walked over thorns just to see her future bright
Shining to the core, the girl is so brave
I promised to keep her by my side
Ignoring my shallowness abruptly to make her delight

But that day my glorious lights turned down dark
When her smile was crushed, soul burned
Stars at that night turned into dust, pitch black
Where were you? she asked me
When these heartless men torned my life apart

How could I tell her I was there
witnessing the cruelty hiding in the dark
Oaths becomes words, claims becomes blunt
My heart pumped with pain when I said
' I am cursed with severed hands'

My eyes filled with guilt, her with tears
If it haunts me, the agony how could she bears?
I begged her to curse me death, I have so sinned
But blood rushed through my dying veins when she said
' please don't leave me alone, ' I want to live again.
