November 4- We Made It

Today is the day I become part of history
Living to see 400 years of misery due to slavery
Diminish from one man’s bravery
Look up at the sky, remove my fitted
Like Martin Luther King we did it!
This day go live in infamy
No can take this pride and joy away from this black man
Cause I’m voting proof that a black man can
Yeah this my first year voting, I was voting for a cause
Obama elected President gazing at the T.V in ah
Ran out my dorm with my boom box
Played “ My President Black” by Young Jeezy
Smoking a cigarette like I can’t Believe it
All the non-Believers had to know this day was soon to come
Remember that old song, It had a nice jingle
We shall overcome…….Finally
Now all my teachers and instructors telling me I can’t be opinionated
When my forefathers where segregated….delegated to force labor
To Change the laws they hesitated…we been real patient
Now we levitating to higher office…….We MADE IT!
