Corporate Slavery

They hired my mind
seduced by words kind
harnessed my flesh by default

now I spend all my days
in this growing rat maze
away from the sun, in work's vault

they gave me some tasks
I do more than they ask
but they wanted my soul out from me

and my hate of this place
leads to a disgrace
and oh, how I yearn to be free!

I travel in fright
both morning and night
like sheep or some cattle hemmed in

to meet needs of the body
my work is now shoddy
and I long for a place, I can win

but soon I'll be leaving
and I won't be grieving
the loss of this life called to be

and then I'll have fun
earn a place in the sun
be quit of this corporate slav'ry.
