The head of the order, approaches the altar
Before him is the first gleam of dawn

The youg men say, as she walks past seductively
Soft blonde hair, reaching to her waist
Shy blue eyes under long black lashes

Adam was just turned eighteen
A fisherman by trade
He went out with his father
Six days a week, in their tiny boat

They called you tan, but you were golden
With some white thrown in
Part collie and part spaniel
I often wondered which was which
...

The summer is over, the hot days past
And the cool fruitful autumn is here
Remembering now those long sultry days
When lying dozily on the grass

The day was still overcast
I went outside to take a walk
Along the well known streets
That I've often walked before

Something is falling from the air
You would think that it is snow
But it is grey as well as white
It lays now on everything, like a blanket
...

Snowflakes fall like feathers
To thicken the blanket on the ground
Bare trees also give testament
To the fact that winter is here
...

He gets off the train, suitcase in hand
Walks through the station, hails a taxi
As they drive through the town, towards his home
He sits, staring out of the window

The estate agent said
