Like the light energising the minds eye
Trying to see through the drifting clouds
But trapped behind the many shrouds.

Dancing in the moonlight
Holding each other so tight
Swaying too and fro
With the night wrapped around us.

I can find the sleep but not the dreams
I can't hear the laughter but I hear the screams
I can feel the cold but I need to feel warm
I can see the darkness but never the dawn

It seems to me the world
Is an enormous tear-drenched heart
Like leaves falling from a tree
As our fragile world falls apart.
