Matt Baines Poems

A desolate heart
Pumps its dreary blood
Through the vessels independent
From the winsome tastes of reality
...

Often do I wonder
What blood looks like outside
Is it such a blunder?
Not wanting to hide?
...

Blow, it will
One day calm
Next day strong
Never stops
...

The picture hung there bright as it could be
What happiness was there during that time?
To know now what it was like to be free
Why sit back and see today as a crime?
...

Have I ever loved, that is the question
For to live here without it would be mad
Should finding it be life's true profession?
Why should looking for you make me so sad?
...

Love, where can it be found? In our answers?
For such a beauty, it must be the cure
Then how can we make it feel like cancer?
Is it by thinking it has to be pure?
...

Looking out at empty skies
Not believing its been ten years
Since you died
...

Mother and child together playing in the grass
Laughter overrides the need to kill
Kill what's ours but will soon grow small
One's fear is the other's freedom
...

Be too bright
The star you see
Will burst into the sin
You think you are
...

Oh my evergreen
Not faltering from others
Pointing out our lies.
...

A rough grain of sand
Lost until wet from the wave
Let us be so brave
...

The Best Poem Of Matt Baines

Psychotic Candy

A desolate heart
Pumps its dreary blood
Through the vessels independent
From the winsome tastes of reality
Until which the raging sage
Keeps the sense of being
All to himself
Leaving everything out
From reaching the dreary mind
Thus not moving but delaying
Destruction within our midst
Needing another fix
Of psychotic candy that needs more sugar
At the jar where the location is gone
From being used
Before it existed.
