A Poem No One Will Ever Understand

It was hard to walk away,
But unbearable to stay,
The love in your eyes,
Turned into a disguise,
The you I knew,
Faded away,
Blurring my last memory of you,

The days and nights I cried for you,
The hours I thought about you,
The love I had for you,
Seemed to turn pointless,

So I just sit there,
Behind your turned back,
Whispers echoing of the walls you built,
Guilt drowns my mind,
But I know it was the right thing to do,

'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger',
Fit the situation perfectly,
Because our love was killing me,
But I walked away in time,
How I felt about you,
No amount of time could tell,

The worst moments fill my mind,
When I was forbid to talk to you,
The time broke us,
You gave up everything for me,
Until you had me,
And old habits returned,
Forcing me to walk away,
The new you took over,
And the old you past away,

You never know the description,
Of a broken heart,
Until you felt it,
You never know the feeling of,
An empty hole in your chest,
Until you felt it,
You never the definition,
Of physical pain lost love causes,
Until you felt it,

Now I lay here,
Thinking of you,
Now you just lay there,
Probably not thinking about me,

So I close my eyes,
Giving you a soft kiss goodbye,
And leaving who you were,
In my memory,
And save it for a time,
When I'm strong enough,
For I know God knows what He's doing,
When He thinks I'm ready,
I'll see you one day.
