Melissa Morgan Poems

I look at the card, sat in front of me,
and the rain falls hard, and I can't see,
the wind it howls, and leaves rustle,
and the fowl, crawl deep and nustle,
...

I gave you my love and you left me,
didn't worry what if or what could be,
just laid your arms around my soul,
and pierced your lips to end this toll,
...

Life is hard,
and cuts are deep,
we are scarred,
from loves own keep,

Stop The Rain

I look at the card, sat in front of me,
and the rain falls hard, and I can't see,
the wind it howls, and leaves rustle,
and the fowl, crawl deep and nustle,
Fall is hear, it is here again,
and within me is fear, the pain of my pin,
I'm glad you cant see, behind my eyes,
and can't see, the pain that abides,
the card arrives, to me and my home,
and is so alive, with a brilliant tone,
and to me, it says 'It's a boy',
it should hold glee, but is anothers joy,
it just seems to remind, what is true for me,
to continue to find, my fertility,
the women so pleased, with their bellies so round,
their hearts are eased, with each ultra-sound,
but when my eyes, see the joy of their womb,
it reminds me of the ties, of me to my tomb,
Don't say you get it, don't pretend to understand,
because this you don't get, you haven't been dealt my hand,
this is my hand, and with that I can survive,
but with my husband, and the look in his eye,
he hides his disappointment, not to hurt me,
but I sense the scent, a father he longs to be,
and that cuts in my heart, like the sharpest of knives,
knowing I can't give, what's expected of wives,
so forgive me if I say no, to come to your shower,
forgive me even so, I know that I cower,
I know I've let you down, husband of mine,
though I hide the frown, it's getting harder with time,
and many tears fall, for the pain I've caused you,
though you stand tall, I can see right through,
forgive me my family, I am sorry for this,
because of this sadly, I can not give you that bliss,
so for now I wait, to see what God will do,
because of this fate, only he can undo,
so now I pray, to the God above,
that I may, one day feel that love,
between mother and child, and cease the pain,
so incredibly wild, and stop the rain.
