  • POEM: Where The Love Is by Bradley Flowers (11/4/2011 7:31:00 PM)

I like your poem Bradley, it has a certain rawness about it, the A-B-A line structure works well. The idea of making your heart the independant mediator of the piece is very good...Yes all in all, you have a very good, well structured poem here.........it works for me well done..keep writing..BUT write for yourself not the crowd...capishe?

  • POEM: * Mirror by Ernestine Northover (11/3/2011 4:00:00 PM)

I am only submitting infrequently now as I'm now retired, and paradoxically, busier than ever...but I still always look for your poetry and I see your poetry gene has been passed on............best wishes

  • POEM: * Mirror by Ernestine Northover (11/3/2011 3:56:00 PM)

    Hello again Ernestine

This poem is beautiful, it's like delicate lace, but oh, so evocative. I hope you are still well and enjoying your grandchildren.

So far I have put up with people sending 'global' e-mails asking people to read their poety and 'vote' for them. There are over seventy thousand poets submitting poetry to this site, most of whom just post and wait to see if anyone actually likes their poems. I suspect that most people on here are also very nice and generous people otherwise why would they open themselves up and show the workings of their soul. There are however a few individuals who are deluding themselves that by soliciting comments and votes, that their poetry is actually 'good' when in reality it, like them, is just mediocre. One has to suspect that the votes and comments they get are based not on their talents as a poet as much as on the good nature and inate generosity of the other poets on this site. How about we put an embargo on soliciting vote and comment and just wait and see what comments we get!
