Nice thoughts everybody. Thank you all for sharing them with me. I respect all of you. And I agree 100% with TMs observation about the use of such words by some poets. I wonder how much of the work of the famous poets cited in PH has been deleted as a result of this move? Anyway, I guess it must be my 'social' disobedience complex. Only one last thing: This 'house' wouldn't exist without us, would it? So, at best we should be talking about a harmonious symbiotic relationship here and not a ruler-follower one. Just a thought. N

I can see your point. Quite clear. I am not that convinced though. One could use this argument to justify (unjustifiable) censorship laws in a country too. Hmm! I don't know. At the least it is a shame to see such attitude from poetry site. What next? Censor any reference to drugs, sex and sexuality, political ideologies, blasphemy perhaps. I don't know. I can substitute (and I have) my two swear words with non-words (e.g. Feck and shug) . My message is still going through, I hope. It is just a shame though.

Dear all, I just realised that PH had posted a message saying in essence that poems that contain swear words will be removed from the site. And so did two of mine (that contained a swear word each) . I don't know where you stand on this, but to me it sounds like a serious form of censorship and an unjustified restriction of freedom of expression that should not be present on a poetry site.
