  • POEM: The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost (8/25/2014 6:06:00 PM)

The Road is a metaphor for not being satisfied or necessarily accepting what life puts forward but making your own path. In this poem the Road was -

Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.

    and -

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

the one less traveled by is in the heart of the traveler. This is a clever, ironic and brilliant poem.

  • POEM: Joe Smokes a Fag On the Beach by the guy in charge (2/2/2014 3:32:00 PM)

Joe is interesting, the narrator is even more interesting, and you're left wanting to know more, which is the most interesting. This is good.

  • POEM: Joe Smokes a Fag On the Beach by the guy in charge (1/13/2014 1:41:00 PM)

The 'joy in suffering' is an interesting line. You feel the writer means it. A poem is a device for freedom. You have an interesting style. Confusion made sense, or sense in confusion.

Hi Dan, really like this poem. From my viewpoint it seems like a " Hymn for an Agnostic" . Anyway, enjoyed it very much, thanks. Peter.

Jefferson, this poem can be interpreted as a cry for God by someone unwilling to believe without proof. Amazing! You're a complicated character, Jefferson, as we all are. One of your better poems. Peter.

It's hard to go past what you're saying in the poem. The experience you had. I hope your life is much happier now. For me, my wife and daughters are my lifeline. I hope you have some good people in your life and that those dark days are behind you. Best wishes, Peter.
