If you wish to write about food, you must eat that food. To write about pain, be pained. About love, love something. At least in your mind's eye, or in this case, your mind's mouth. Take time contemplating the food in all of its splendor. Like its shape and color. What does it smell like? Who does it remind you of? When do you first remember eating it? Think of it as a dinner, as a snack, as a picture, as a recipe, as a lonely plate left out in a desert. Then when you have so many dissonant thoughts that they can't possibly be organized, just start writing.
