  • POEM: § Footprints § by VIPINS PUTHOORAN (9/21/2011 5:34:00 PM)

Poetry with a message is typically hard to do well without seeming pompous and overbearing, but I think you managed to stay on the high road. This is clearly no manefesto, but a confession.

The strongest line is 'Between my sin and my life, ' which imparts the choice (the poet had, and the choice of the reader; goes along well with the insistence of not following your footsteps.

I'm glad you didn't rip of Dante in your depiction of hell.

  • POEM: Here we are together by VIPINS PUTHOORAN (9/21/2011 5:28:00 PM)

I like it, as seems to be the way, your imagery, because of and in addition to your word choice, is vivid and striking and rich and complex.

I think I like more the juxtaposition of night and death, whenever someone writes 'Moonlight' it hits like 'Moonlight Drive', for obvious reasons as well as complex. Though I am not a huge fan of this sort of love poetry, I couldn't pull my eyes from your work. well done.

  • POEM: Unsatisfied by Vivek Haldar (9/21/2011 1:29:00 AM)

very interesting. as a poet, the wording and organization thereof is unyielding and flows strong.

for the concept, I am equally enamored. it displays classic motifs of the wondering soul in need of purpose, quelled by an answer that a certain type of love is the purpose, (though to whom it is directed is unclear...well done on that part as the journey (or vessel) I deem more important than destination) , and finally, the conclusion will remain true in the sands of time in its resounding negative tone.

the existential soul is forced to search again for meaning, as it should be. well done.
