My home is just around the corner
I left it, oh so long ago
It's massive, built of stone and timber
A place that I will always know.

Love is the boat
And dreams are the tide
Fate is the moon
And Life is the ride.

Shiver.

My home is just around the corner
I left it, oh so long ago
It's massive, built of stone and timber
A place that I will always know.

The fire that used to burn is gone.
They've changed the rooms since I have left
But here, the place that I grew older
Reminds of the tears I shed.

There's the swing that we played on
A fragrant wind, one summers day
There's the brambles that I fell on,
To get to you, the only way.

It makes me sad, to see it now
All the memories gone to dust
But I am sure I heard your laugh
Over there, by the shrubs.
Are you there? Can it be?
Is that your brown hair that I see?
Your quick dark eyes, your languid smile,
I've not seen either for a while.
But no, a shadow playing tricks
You're gone forever.
It makes me shiver.
