Michelle A. Thomas Poems

Cast a stone into the blue
and watch it mutely echo,
with each swell expectation
with each ripple possibility.
...

I minded the moon at midnight,
dangling in my distant past.
Tormenting fate with impatience,
imagining this can't last.
...

Will you still love me when I'm hateful,
Devoted to my poison, endure me through sin
Wicked and tangled, heart and soul forged of tin.

One Stone

Cast a stone into the blue
and watch it mutely echo,
with each swell expectation
with each ripple possibility.
They are endless in occasion,
boundless in prospect.
Every wave an inspiration
urged with noble intention,
brimming with hope and promise.
Countless notion of vision
crest towards the shore,
breaking on the beach
vanishing in liquid gold.
And then it is lost, forfeited to the sand.

Irretrievable moments of opportunity,
neglected and abandoned,
only recollections
of proposition or designs.
Fate swindled by the nature of the wave.
The sand saturated and
satiated with optimism.
Pebbles slick and damp
with squandered chance.
Pebbles to be cast into the blue.
