My Poison

Here we stand, in the palm of nature's hand
Our love like a rock turns to a grain of sand
Piece by piece our limbs are thrown around
But eventually, everything comes crashing to the ground

The love we share is like a rose
The more we sin the more it grows
Thorns surround me, they're pressed against my spine
Four words will never last, 'what's yours is mine'

The pain I suffer, the laughter you endure
Nothing is too strong for me to find a cure
The battle I struggle is not here or there
But in your grasp, and in your care
