Nishith Anand Biography

Hi.Thanks so much for visiting me on poemhunter. About me, the lesser said the better (I'd rather let my poems speak for me!) Still, for the record, it goes without saying that I'm something of a dreamer (What do you think I am on this website for? Online Trading? ? ?) I'd like to believe people when they tell me I'm adorable; and I would also like to believe I stopped growing after school. Therefore, it baffles me that I scraped through Engineering AND an MBA: since then, I've never ceased to believe in miracles. Born in what the Tourism folks tout as God's Own Country (didn't know the Almighty had his favourite bit of real estate) , I've always considered me lucky. I hope to bring to you some of all these- my dreamer's muses, my zest for life, the magic of living and believing, my little fortunes etc. well, life's never been rosy- so if you really read between the lines(pun intended) , you might discover a Very Different me! Please feel free to post your comments on my literary adventures. I hope that I shall have all the time in the world to read all your poems and share your thoughts... So there- Happy Reading! And I'M Loving It!

Cluck-cluck goes the bullock cart
Lub-dub goes the beating heart
I try to keep pace with the rhythm
Like footsteps towing a beating drum-

And I am loving it!

Boys and men are out on a jog
Joined by an occasional dog
Along the stretch of silvery street,
'Morning! some of them cheerily greet-

And I am loving it!

Temples and churches, buses, bicycles
The new day offers such spectacles
Glistening grass, leaves and flowers
It's sunny after night-long showers-

And I am loving it!

I trot along at my own pace
Feeling the sunlight on my face
The milkman's cans clang and clatter
Over the Radio Jockey's incessant chatter-

And I am loving it!

Wide-eyed children stand and wave
While their mothers ask them to behave
On whitewashed walls outside her house
A pony-tailed tot sketches Mickey Mouse

And I am loving it!

For a moment I thought me a kid
Trust me, I really did
But not did a pair of shady eyes
That followed me with leery vice

Many imaginary lines later...

They call me nuts, they call me gay
But their voices seem so far away
Wonder why you were made this way-
They all remark, at work and at play.

It's been like this for many a day
I walk my path, come what may
Dark secrets within me lay
'Never let'em rise' I earnestly pray

Join me- O wellwisher mine,
Like a timely intervention divine
For nobody can really tell
How short can be this spell

Walk with me, or choose otherwise
Be rude to me, or overtly nice;
You may join, or just let me be
Barely a difference I'm able to see

Long roads and deceptive turns-
The painful way is how one learns
Lub-dub goes my beating heart
With the rhythm of the bullock-cart

And I am loving it!
