We Live On
Death is a passage
We pass on to live on
Why then the grave worries?
...
Eyes that Cannot See
They live in perpetual darkness,
For they have eyes that cannot see!
...
After a season of heat and dust,
When the sun looked hard on us,
The first rain took us unawares
Like a thief in the night.
...
Old School
Did we know?
When we swam thru
puberty,
Our chest broader,
Our shoulders larger,
Our voice coarse,
We were on course.
Did we know?
When we defied parental rules,
Rebelled at school,
Cared little who was who,
Our swag were big shoes.
It was the time of youth.
Do we know?
When we lose some hair,
Pant when we climb a stair,
The new generation think us old fashioned
We remind them men were once boys
That they know nothing
Though we ourselves grow old
Not knowing time is taking its toll.
