Patrick Bryan Poems

I go, though unbidden.

Unbidden, I will pay the fare.
Traveling light, nothing I bear,
...

One day at the park,
Needing to rest after a lark.
On the warm green grass with my mom,
Next to a babbling brook in the sun.

The Unbidden

I go, though unbidden.

Unbidden, I will pay the fare.
Traveling light, nothing I bear,
But one coin for passage,
From here to there.

I go to that Place, though unbidden.
Leaving this place in which I am hidden.
Hidden in a dark and noiseless place.
Painful and lonely, this finite space.

Yielding that Spark which I hold dear,
Then away from this place of much despair

At the rivers edge,
Gazing across the flow.
Straining to see that Place
Known long ago.
No Keeper to pay,
No Ferry to ride,
No bridge to traverse to the other side.
With coin in hand,
Lost in a dreary land.

At the rivers edge.
Forbidden to cross.
Feeling a dread,
Is the spark now dead?
Are flowers laid upon the Grave?
To black, everything fades …

Here Unbidden, cannot remain.
The Life being led is not in vain.
The heartbreaks and grief's,
They cratered the Soul.
But in the end, there is a Goal.
The soul has returned,
The coin was kept.
The spark came to life,
Softly, it wept.

Anger, Pain, Sadness.
Hope, Love and Gladness.
Come down like rain.
Collecting in the craters of the soul.

Sweet music to hear,
Friends that are dear.
It is no longer dark,
Cherishing the Spark.
Becoming whole.
Swimming in the Pools of the Soul.
