A heart alone
will revel and rave
as it strikes out
trying feebly to be brave

A heart alone
when it thinks it's done
will race off
attempting to run

A heart alone
builds a stone wall
a cold fortress
to drive away all

A heart alone
will eventually sigh
with the truth
must find another or die
