Barn, du er mig som den store Skov


Barn, du er mig som den store Skov
fyldt med Skygge, der saa mildt beroliger,
fyldt med stille Fryd som Skovens Dyb
med en Verden af smaa Fugleboliger.

Og saa ejer du saa lyst et Smil,
som et Solstrejf pludselig det kommer,
som naar Vinden skiller Skovens Løv
og det ler vidt om af Sol og Sommer.

Og din Stemme. Har du hørt et Væld
klunke under Mos og tunge Grene
og saa briste, som en Draaberegn
jublende hen over Bundens Stene!

Sidde hos dig, tavs og fuld al Fred,
stirre paa dig, holde dine Hænder,
om det stormer eller pisker ned,
det er, som om Somren aldrig ender.
