Black Hat White Head Band - Poem by Charles Hice

Black Hat White Head Band
James Garner remembered
someone told me that he died
Television has not been mine for many years and eye am old now an old man myself
He was one of the GOOD guys but what does this really mean they all wore Black Hats in the Westerns and they were really mean
they STood upp for LIFE and Defense they fought hard and two fisted a Gambler intent on survival a carp sharp a two fisted drinker
He wore nice Hat and wide brim excitemeant on the Screen he was on Television Programs and Westerns at the movies inside the Idiot box we still remember how he always won his fights
slinging guns not hashish these men were larger then the Roles they played making everything a boy can do too seem to be ok and the time he played the 40 year old man in that forgettable movie I want to get off the World? NO it must be someone else in that movie its not listed in his Credits
He lived in NOrman Oklahoma and had a Street there nammed after HIM
James Gardner Ave
eye do remember Rockford Files
the episode where they sent the grenade into his little trailer
they dropped it into the air vent and he escaped the explosion
He was only listed as having been in 50 movies
a few of them eye might even watch
reading about James BUMgardner on my google watch
some say he was a Cherokee Oklahoma INdian
about
Maverick
1957-1960 three years after eye was born eye was only a three year old KID Television meant nothing to me then eye must have seen this one in the Sixties on the ReRuns
Bret and Bart
keep hitting those Aces upp in Heaven
James Garner is remembered
Black Hat White Head Band
