Blood Red Sky

Daylights demise
Bloody scarlet skies
As twilight echoes
vermillion waves flow
Ebbing gentle caress
Lapping hem of dress
Bathed sands made new
Erases all trace of you
Footprints disappear
Where you’ve gone unclear
So I sit and meditate
Till it grows dark and late
Still silence broken only by
Shriek of gull flying high
Who far at sea daily roam
Now Follow last trawler home
Until with all encompassing dark
I rise and leave a large love heart
for you to see when passing by
On beach under a blood red sky.
