Chhe.De mai.n ne kabhii lab-o-ruKhasaar ke qisse

chhe.De mai.n ne kabhii lab-o-ruKhsaar ke qisse
gahe gul-o-bul_bul kii hikaayat ko nikhaaraa
gahe kisii shahazaade ke afsaane sunaaye
gahe kyaa duniyaa-e-paristaa.N kaa nazaaraa
mai.n khoyaa rahaa jin-o-malaik ke jahaa.N me.n
har lahajaa agarche mujhe aadam ne pukaaraa

baraso.n yuu.N hii dil_jamii-e-aurang kii Khaatir
sau phuul khilaaye kabhii sau zaKhm Khariide
mai.n likhataa rahaa hijv baGaavat manshuu.n kii
mai.n pa.Dhataa rahaa qasr_nashiino.n ke qasiide
ubharaa bhii agar dil me.n ko_ii jazabaa-e-sar_kash
is Khauf se chup thaa ke ko_ii ho.nTh na sii de

lekin ye tilismaat bhii taa der na rah paaye
aaKhir mai-o-miinaa-o-Daf-o-chang bhii TuutTe
yuu.N dast-o-garebaa.N huaa insaan-o-Khudaaband
nakhachiir to ta.Dape qafas-e-rang bhii TuuTe
is kashmakash-e-zarraa-o-anjum kii fizaa me.n
kash_kol to kyaa afsar-o-aurang bhii TuuTe

mai.n dekh rahaa thaa mere yaaro.n ne ba.Dhakar
qaatil ko pukaaraa kabhii maqtal ko sadaa dii
gahe rasn-o-daar ke aaGosh me.n jhuule
gahe haram-o-dair kii buniyaad hilaa dii
jis aag se bhar_puur thaa maahaul kaa siinaa
vo aag mere lauh-o-qalam ko bhii pilaa dii

aur aaj shikastaa huaa har tauq-e-talaa_ii
ab fan meraa darbaar kii jagiir nahii.n hai
ab meraa hunar hai mere jamahuur kii daulat
ab meraa junuu.N kaif-e-taaziir nahii.n hai
ab dil pe jo guzaregii be-Tok kahuu.Ngaa
ab mere qalam mai.n ko_ii zanjiir nahii.n hai
