I first heard this poem in a movie, then my Mother died, and this poem took on a very special meaning to me and now I can fully understand what E.E. Cummings meant when he wrote this poem. It's about love and losing a loved one. My very favorite poem by my very favorite poet.

ee cummings is one of my favorite authors... ^_^ i do love this poem... I do hope someday somehow there someone who will gladly carry my heart with him for I will loyally carry his heart with me... ^_^

The first time I heard this was in my fav. movie 'In her Shoes', I loved it. When my mother passed away last may I immediately thought of that poem and realized what that poem really means. So I dedicate that one to my MOM..luv yah MOM
