I just love this poem... It means a lot to me..My boyfriend passed away about 2 months ago and I tattoed this poem on my ribs in his memory.....This type of love described in the poem is hard to find and he was the one. |

I just heard this poem for the first time. My brother committed suicide three months ago - we were adopted at the ages of 4 and 6 after our mother did the same thing. After his death, I found myself drawing a heart with another inside, supporting it. This poem tells what I was trying to draw - what I am trying to rest in and find peace with. |

Absolutely beautiful imagery and earnestness. The only poem that I feel can take on the intense romantic poetry of Neruda. Cummings seems to pour out his soul sharing in the brackets his deeper thoughts and feelings, elaborating further into the surface value meanings of the other lines. Beautifully written. |

Its a heart touching poem. I watch the movie In Her Shoes only to listen the poem. As far as movie is concerned, it is excellent. The girl I loved, died of blood cancer in 1999. I Still love her a lot. She was my life, my dream, everything to me. on 1st of July was her bithday. I went to Mother Teressa, s home and served people ther and at the prayer cermoney I recited this poem dedicatin her. |

I also first heard this poem while watching the movie, In Her Shoes, which I bought
another copy to send to my sister in California whom I loved very much. She had
been battling with breast cancer for a number of years. Her daughter is in the Air Force and the rest of our family live in Louisiana. I went to California last Nov. to move her to her daughter & son-in-laws home in TX. She was not in good health. We watched the movie together and I told her that the poem at the end was her birthday gift from me. She loved it. They came to my home for Christmas where my sister passed away in her sleep on Christmas Eve. I had a family friend read the poem at her funeral. It holds a special place in my heart and in the hearts of all my family. |
