I hate

I hate the ways
Cold weather stays
Longer than it should
I hate candy
At Halloween
That tastes and smells like wood
I hate Republicans
And Democrats as well
And I hate Indian food
And the way it makes you smell
I hate crappy drivers and
How they break the laws
I hate cats and how they shed
And how they use their claws
I hate eggs when overcooked
And the smell of pee
Or when I get overlooked
At the DMV
I hate the things that I've done
To get money or drugs
I hate how much conscience feels
Slimy like a million slugs
I hate what I have become
And what I see in the mirror
I hate I can't see this all
My vision should be clearer
I hate how I lie to myself
To make it not as hard
To feel the pain that
I created broken into shards
I hate artificial grape
And snacks flavored with ranch
I hate when people won't wear belts
Or even pull up their pants
I hate when Summer's over
And you lose a couple friends
I also hate when I'm finished
And it all comes to an end.

Poem of the Day

poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
