Infidelity

Her husband lay dying
You took her on holiday
Her children cried
You laughed and had fun

I looked in your eyes
You lied through your teeth
I trusted your words
You laughed and had fun

Years went by
You pretended and stayed
She came into your arms
You laughed and had fun

Her husband died
You found more women
I cried in confusion
You laughed and had fun

poet Robert Browning

After
by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
