Infidelity

She loves him
A pristine all-consuming affection
Like an virgin iceberg
Bridging the mortality of man
With the divinity of heaven
An epitome of a transcendent love
That miniaturizes even the consummating passion
Of Hero and Leander
Yet she languishes in a time-tested practice
That transmits shudders downs her earthly conscience
Her infidelity to her demi-god
As she searches habitually for the pleasures of divinity
In the solace of her mistresses
The slender tactile digits of her twin palms

O Love! thou makest all things even
In earth or heaven;
Finding thy way through prison-bars
Up to the stars;
Or, true to the Almighty plan,
That out of dust created man,
