Look Back Not

In a life where problems, situation, ram into each other
In a life where nothing is really to long for
When your favourite car is someone's old car
Your favourite clothes are probably rags to a rich person
Your most treasured dream has been lived by someone else
Your favourite girlfriend/boyfriend is someone's ex
It is as if there's nothing to live for

When you look around and see as if, you only have left overs
What then is for your gain?
Trust is an almost rare commodity
Heart break is the order of the day
When the darkness swallows up the sun,
thieves, harlots wallow our streets
As the noisy day awaits in tremble
From the chilly morning breeze
To gulf my yester dreams

If you are to live today, then don't look over your shoulder
For yesterday's fears and faults.
Look yonder, to the future
There lies destiny, a great triumph
Engulfed in faith in God, a walk with Him

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

Whate'er we leave to God, God does,
And blesses us;
The work we choose should be our own,
God leaves alone.

If with light head erect I sing,
